Philippines offers some of the best scuba diving in the world, and this can be done Shoestring budget if you go on a year for the right time.
There are also many places in the world where this can be $ 40 2 dives in the frame, but the Philippines offers many places where this is possible, and if you have your dive gear and diving more than 5 times, you may bring price down even lower.
My two favorites, while I was therePuerto Galera is Cebu and Bohol. Both dive sites are very easy to reach. I went to Puerto Galera by local bus and local ferry flights is an easy trip from Angeles City, Clark Air Base, and is even easier to Manila. Getting to Cebu, Bohol was the simplest and cheapest with a couple of regional airlines like Cebu Pacific and Philippine national carrier, Air Philippines offers many cheap flights from Manila and Clark.
DivesPuerto Galera was a real pleasure to see many species of butterflies between tears, seat backs and a lot of different noses including orange nose, blue nose, hump nose. There was also plenty of angelfish, including real favorite of all the lakes and some great action nudibrachs and needles too. Puerto Galera also has some wreckage, with three possible wrecks in one dive at Sabang Beach. These wrecks are shallow enough that divers can swim in open water around the outsidewithout a card of their Advanced Open Water or specialty evaluation wrecks.
Cebu is one of the largest islands of the Philippines. Bohol is connected to Cebu by a bridge. Alona Beach on Bohol, and is the main starting point for Balicasag which is where the best diving is around 25 minutes by boat from Alona Beach on the local catamarans. The dives are possible away from Alona Beach. I was with a sea snake and a hoard of Education awarded catfish, and some very nice pipefish when I arrived, and had a fault free snorkel diving. From the beach to swim, it took about 10 minutes and went over 40 meters. The most important place for divers to go to Cebu, Bohol Balicasag Island, a nature reserve, while I was there we had some strong winds were on the side of Lee Ward for two days was the great action that wall!. A highlight of the trip was really swimming in a large group of tunas at 40 metersWater, swim close enough for me to see all the beautiful colors. Balicasag Iceland had a few different types of nudibrachs and they were very nice to see in their outrageous fluorescent color. There are also some really good shallow reef that at least four different types of clown fish are kept, Finding Nemo is a game for children
For all our dives in the Philippines we had a local instructor. I must point out that they are not very good briefing, and I foundis a bit 'odd, is not always a safety card in the boat, especially when the means of rescue in non-term. English was the spoken language was mainly on the dive boats, scuba diving-I. Overall, I dive and come back as it is a season of great value in the distance.
